Cool V-6 Muscle

http://3.8mustang.com/performance/

I don't know if everything here is compatable, but that would be pretty sweet to have a performance v-6 with a radical cam.

Re: V-6 Muscle

why waste all of that money to use a crappy starting platform when you can start off with a V8, out the same money into it and get WAY more power? Thats like those little burners. Why dump $15,000 into a $20,000 car when you can get a $4,000 car and put $5,000 into it and have it be WAY faster and a lot better performer?

Re: V-6 Muscle

I know it wouldn't be worth the money. Those prices aren't very competetive, considering nobody wants the v-6 for performance. I'm just saying it is available and it would be pretty sweet. If I had that kind of money i wouldn't bother with my t-bird, I would dump it in my 72.

Re: V-6 Muscle

Dude the '72 Mustang with the 351 Cleavland was one of the best Mustangs ever made! It even rivaled the hailed GT500. It would be a discrace to see a '72 with a done up V6 in it. Even though it wouldnt be number matching a cleavland droped in there with stock or better specs would be AWESOME!

Just to clear something up... I have no intention of putting the V-6 in my mustang. What I was trying to say was if I had that kind of budget I would not waste it on a V-6 tbird. I would put the money into the mustang. I have a 302 in there right now. If I was going to do anything major to the motor, I would probably rebuild it and bore and stroke it up to 347.

P.S. I am all about V-8 performance!!!!!!!

Re: V-6 Muscle

You need to get nuts and stick a blown 5.4 Cobra R motor in there.

Re: V-6 Muscle

I'm going to sell my thunder-turd. V-6 w/ granny gears.

NOTHING can compete with a stroker. A small block with the torque of a big block. It would piss all over the 5.4.

Re: V-6 Muscle

380hp? and it's blown? no way!!!! I take back my previous comment. It MIGHT compete with a stroker Naturally Aspirated.

Re: V-6 Muscle

The best thing about going with the 5.4 is that you'll get better mileage, comperable torque numbers (yes you will) and more reliable. Assuming you dont crank up the boost too much.

Re: V-6 Muscle

but..alas.. with all this close minded thinking.... my (gasp!) 3.8L V6 will... abosofuckinglutley smother my 4.6L V8 (or 5.0 MN12 for that fact) stock for stock.. as mine is 99.8% stock..

Well, relativley speaking, the N/A 3.8L is kinda shitty... but what about the SC 3.8L? Hopw is that a bad platform? (Besides HG Failures.. but thats in another episode) 14 flat with exhaust, cam, pulley, intake, and reflash in a 3900 lb car? Still a bad platform?
