on the timing belt side of the engine block. You should buy (or at the very least download) a service manual, if you're going to try it yourself.

yep, u will need to remove the crank pully to get the timing belt cover off, and remove the timing belt as well. deff get a service manual. www.helminc.com is IMO the best service manual you can buy
