Another Airbrush Question....

I have read alot, and searched. I have been to the manufacturer's website but I still need some opinions. I hav e a paasche vl and its a great airbrush but in the next few months I want to get an iwata. Lately I have been starting to airbrush on paper designs such as fire and skulls. I want an iwata that is more for smaller finer detailing... I am keeping my paasche, its a great airbrush but for the finer stuff I want a different one. I don't know which ones though?

The main ones that have caught my eye are the kustom cs and the hp-cs eclipse. The microns are very expensive, but how are they? Any opinions would be great. Right now, do not ask about budgets, I am just getting a bunch of info together and I will go from there... Maybe I will save up more for a better one, so just some general info on some of these brushes would be great. Thanks guys, and sorry for another airbrush question, I realize that there has already been two on this page.

I own an iwata hp cs. It is my first airbrush and i have been using it to paint my car bodies and other large pices. So far it is excellent. I have not done any detail work with it, but i plan to learn. I would recommend it, I love mine. I looked at the microns as well and then saw the price...... Hp CS is deffintly an excellent choice

When you buy an airbrush, good equipment is important, but how you use it is as or more important than what you have. A lot of guys us single-action airbrushes like the Paasche H, and they get great results.

I wouldn't over-think your purchase: An Eclipse, or Revolution, will keep you going for years before your skill level demands something better.

IMO, Iwatas are a little overrated and WAY to expensive.

I use a H&S Evolution, german precision at it´s very best.
Never went back to Iwatas...
I airbrush everything from large wall murals to coin-size skulls with a 0.4 mm nozzle. I dont have the time to explain just how great it is, all I can say is, BUY ONE!!!
One great feature that separates it from other airbrushes is that you can fit 0.15 mm - 0.6 mm nozzles in the same airbrush (0.15; 0.2; 0.4; 0.6).
The Evolution is not known by many outside Europe, which is a good thing IMO because it keeps the prices low.

The Microns are very good ABs, but they´re really not worth the money, not by far. The Eclipse would be a good option, but please, consider other brands than Iwata!!! RichPen for example, very similar to Iwatas and the same performance for A LOT less money.

Also, dont be confused by specifications and nozzle sizes, a 0.1 mm micron is NOT automatically better than a 0.3 mm nozzle.
The precision is in the SKILL of the painter, NOT in the size of the nozzle.
Dont expect to become a better artist with a "better" brush.

Depending on paint consistency and air pressure, you can paint hairline-size strokes with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

Dont go smaller than 0.2 mm, otherwise you will have problems shooting waterbased paint because the paint particles arent fine enough to through the nozzle.

I could go on writing a whole essay but I´ll stop here, do some research.
