Dash Cluster

I want to remove my cluster from my 99' silverado to send it out for a trans temp gauge to be installed. Is there anything that should be done before disabling the dash area. Like air bags or any other electrical items?

Re: Dash Cluster

Just order a new cluster with it already installed.

Or you can get a used escalade cluster off of ebay for cheaper I'm sure. Plus the gauges look better IMO.

Re: Dash Cluster

Don't you have to have the computer EPROM reflashed so that it knows there is a gauge to power?

Nope, simply plug and play.

Re: Dash Cluster

NO PREP NEEDED. Just set emergency brake, turn ignition to unlock shift lever, put the steering wheel in the tilt down position, put shift lever in the lowest position, pull the bezel loose and remove, unscrew the cluster and unplug. Reinstall in the reverse manner.

About a 5 min (literally) job.
