safe and sound

i am proud to say i finally have my car back in my hands. the drive from maine to oklahoma took about 30 hours, i did it over 2 1/2 days. she didn't skip a beat on the way down here, drove and rode perfectly. i took it in for an alignment today and i ended up needing a new tie rod on the drivers side. now i can start putting my goodies on, i've got everything but the SAFC right now. to anyone who lives in the dallas texas area, im not sure if anyone does, might there be an awd dyno down there? i've searched for one here in oklahoma and i cant find one. if anyone has got some info i appreciate it.

It is always a good fealing when you get your car back from the shop, I just got my car back after 2months and it bloody runs a bit rough, I hope its just bubles in the Fuel line, since its been sitting for a while..................

Find any races over that 2 1/2 days?????

There aren't any in Oklahoma according to this thread, nearest is Dallas

i live in Dallas, TX

Igovert is correct. Alamo Autosports has the closest AWD dyno to Dallas. there used to be another on in McKinney, TX, north of Dallas, but they lost their license or something (shady stuff i heard). there is supposed to be a new AWD dyno in Dallas at Kingpin Performance, but delays and more delays plague the arrival and installation of the dyno.

you're timing is perfect. the DFW3S club is having a Dyno Day at Alamo Autosports on Nov. 11. see this thread for details: http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=348387. about 20 people have signed up. a few guys should be putting down 350-450 awhp. should be a fun day. every other one i've been to has been awesome. hope you can make it down.

i found the dyno in mckinney, i was going to call them today...but apparently i dont have to anymore. i knew there was one more in dallas, i stumbled accross a pretty good website yesterday that lists all the awd dynos country wide. i won't have all my goodies on by nov. 11, i would like to go very much though. thanks for the info guys, i'll be heading to alamo when the car is good and ready it looks like. linebckr49, would you happen to know the hourly rates and maybe a rough estimate on time it would take to tune a safc and retune my boost controller? the mods that will be on the car by then are in my sig. having never been to a dyno before, i don't know how extensive things really get. thanks again.

you should dyno it now, prior to upgrading, then do it after you have it all hopped up, just to see how much horse the stuff is really giving you.

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but you should look into a datalogger.
Also pressure test prior to going to the dyno, that way you get hte most outta it.

i should, but time to go down to dallas is limited for me. i'd really only be able to go once.

the datalogger has been mentioned, i did some research on it. correct me if im wrong, but all that is needed is the cable, software and some type of PDA/pocketlogger? i didn't think about the pressure test, i will definately do that.
