Plugs and Plug Wires...
Anyone that has a 5.7 Vortec recommend any particular plugs and wires they use on their Tahoe? Right now I have Bosch plugs and wires, but I get some hesitation at idle. I replaced the cap and rotor just recently and made sure I got a quality parts because the last cap and rotor I put on before that was crap!!! I think the rotor I have on their now has a copper bit instead of a steel or aluminum one. The technician said the copper ones are much better. I'd like to keep costs down to around $100 or so...thanks for any advice.

Re: Plugs and Plug Wires...
A/C Delco is the only way to go on a GM engine.

Re: Plugs and Plug Wires...
Seems crazy to spend $130 on plug wires alone though...isn't there an alternative to AC Delco?

And remember AC delco on the cap and rotor to. OEM dealer parts only hurt one time. Aftermarket stuff will bit you in the rear many time. Also the best place for the bosch plugs is the trash can. MT

On a GM Always look for the AC delco stuff. It only hurts one time. That aftermarket stuff will bite you many times. Good Luck MT

Re: Plugs and Plug Wires...
Plugs - my research indicated only use the AC Delco P/N as specified. My OEM plugs were replaced at 100K miles. They were still within gap spec.
BTW, Bosch Platinum specifically not recommended for any application according to my Porsche experts. Wires - My OEM wires were used until 132K. There was a spot of arcing and occassional misfire at start-up. Replaced with Bosch with life time warranty, $65 I believe. Cap/rotor - yes, copper only. I have had problems with aluminum on another vehicle. BTW my cap was first replaced at 100K. Original rotor is still in at 137K but start-up issues. It's on the list. |

Correct on the Bosch, I wouldn't use those in a lawn mower. |

Re: Plugs and Plug Wires...
BOSCH plugs,
Just to clarify, my negative comment applies only to to PLATINUM. The 911 Porsche experts recommend copper (only) Boshe or NGK's for that app. |
