Need advice on replacing bulbs

I have a 1992 GrandAm and need to know if anyone can tell me the easiest way to replace 2 bulbs. The front drivers side turn signal and the side marker on the drivers side.

Re: Need advice on replacing bulbs

Welcome to the forums....

Well the side turn signal/marker light, is easy to replace. There is one blot the holds it on the car, just take teh bolt off, twist the socket and the houseing comes right out. I can't remember but there maybe a plastic shield covering the bolt, but if im not mistaken it just slides out fo the way. The Front bumper light is not as easy to replace due to lack of space. The one and only time i replaced it i put the car over a driveway apron entrance so i had room to climb under the car. ANYWAY, all you ahve to do is reach up, turn teh socekt until it's unlocked from the housing and remove. Replace bulb ( make sure the bulb is secured in when you replace it) Then put socekt back in housing turn until locked. There is very limited space for you to work with for the front bumper light so make sure you have some patience before attacking this. Good Luck!

Re: Need advice on replacing bulbs

Thanks for the help.
As for the side marker light, I don't know how to get at it. I can't get at it from the wheel well because it's covered and it's also blocked to access from underneath the fender. Can I get at it if I remove the bolts from the wheel well cover?

No problem,

You access the side marker light from under the hood, Just open the hood and look by the corner of the fender under the hood, and that's where the bolt should be.

Re: Need advice on replacing bulbs

Are you referring to the one on the side of the bumper? If so, there is no bulb in there, its just a reflector. The front marker light beside the headlight wraps around the corner of the car, thus eliminating the need for the other light. It's there for safety reasons, if you are parked on the side of the road at night oncoming cars can see the front and back of your car. Changing the front marker light is fairly easy, just make sure you don't drop the screw down into the front of the car as its almost impossible to recover it from there. Good luck.

Re: Need advice on replacing bulbs

Thanks for the info-I appreciate it.
I'm a female who is used to doing things herself, but sometimes can't figure things out. I did manage to figure out how to remove and change the bulb in the odd shaped corner light next to the headlight, but that's as far as I got. It's nice to know there is help out there.

Re: Need advice on replacing bulbs

Not a problem. If you have small hands, most of the bulbs on the front of the car will be easier to change. I had to change one of my foglight bulbs a couple of weeks ago, ended up taking the light off the car to get the bulb out as I can't get my hand in there very easily, and I'm dreading having to change one of the turnsignal bulbs in the bumper.
