How High Can They Go?
I got a 97 Lumina LS 3.1L w/ 200 000 miles.
Tranny's good, suspension good, fuel pump replaced, regular maintenance - how high can i expect the engine to go? What are you experiences? |

Re: How High Can They Go?
Probably 300,000 or more, with timely maintenance....you really need to consider a timing chain job, though, if it hasn't had....they usually seem to fall apart around 175,000 from what I've seen....
My guess is a lot of highway miles on yours, that's good. Those are easy miles... |

Re: How High Can They Go?
I have had several lumina vans, all went over 200,000 and two went 250,000. It has been the tranny that bit the dust in EVERY one of them. Who knows how long the engines will run.

Re: How High Can They Go?
I've got a friend with a '96 lumina 3.1. It's had tranny work and now shows 200,000 miles. I guess he should be good to go for a while. Dad is a mechanice so maintence should be good.
