Transmission Maintenance

What periodic maintenance needed to keep the transmission fully tuned. A 2000 silhouette with Pressure Control solenoid just recently replaced with some tranny fluid change. But it doesn’t have the full fluid flush and filter change yet. I heard something about sometimes there is some gunk/sludge buildup cause tranny to go sluggish.

Re: Transmission Maintenance

Stay away from these full flush machine techniques, was the fluid clean and not burnt before the pcs repair, if so you are good, maybe add a bottle of Lubegard red.

Re: Transmission Maintenance

Thanks for the reply. Yes, transmission fluid was good and never burnt. What is a Lubegard? MAF, Cylinder Misfire and lagging PCS codes were set. MAF was cleaned; STP GAS Treatment was added to the fuel (returned excellent gas mileage after the PCS replacement) for misfire remedy. Axle seal also replaced. Now I an not sure a remedy for slow pickup (no slipping observed) from a full stop could either be fix by a transmission filter replacement (not advised by dealer) or start by replacing sparkplugs (still have original, van just crossed 100k), air filter, fuel filter, and PCV valve.
