Problem after fuel tank replaced

Replaced tank on 96 SE, pump and gauge seemed to go in nice. Now not getting and fuel pressure, car wont start. Fuel pump will run if I put power to terminal and car will start and run fine for 10-15sec them dies. The gauge is now pegged on full and wont move. Switched relays and no help. Car ran fine before tank switch so I assume I did something wrong when installing the pump/sender in new tank. There appear to be 4 wires on the connector of which 2 look like grounds. Have 8.5 v to 1 set and nothing to the other set. Any help with this screw up? I dont want to drop the tank again. Thanks
