96 Blazer, Getting to the head gaskets?

So i got a 96 blazer, I got the upper plenum off, removed the fuel spider, but now I cant get any farther. I see the 8 bolts (4 in front, 4 in back) thats holding the manaifold on, and I can reach all but 1 in the front becasue of the mount that the AC compressor sits on is in the way. And I cant figure out how to remove it. I removed all visible bolts from the front, and its got some wiggle in it, but something is still holding it on.

Just a guess too, but is that the powersteering pully and pump below it? is it all once piece? How can I remove it?

Then problem #2, after that is all removed, and I can get to that one bolt it was blocking, its got that hose comming right out of the manifold

What hose is that for? What size is it? (all wrenches ive tried dont fit, so If I need to buy a new one having a size is great)

After I remove those 2 items, can I remove the manifold and will the headgaskets be accessable to replace them? Or do I need to remove more stuff?

Re: 96 Blazer, Getting to the head gaskets?

take the bolts out for the bracket and you must pull the power steering pully off to get to the one bolt for the bracket and then the pump and bracket will both come off together and you should be able to get to it

ok... how do I remove the pulley? I dont see a bolt in the middle that I can get off like the other pulleys. Do i have to pry it off or something? or is there a special tool?

You need a puller designed for p/s pump pulleys.

GM loves 18mm on many so invest in a combo wrench and a 1/2 drive socket (brakes use too).
