Hello, I have a 1991 Escort LX and the dash lights (for the guages) don't light up. The "bright light" indicator does and so do the heater controls and anything else around there. Just the speedometer, temperature, etc. don't light up. There was only 1 fuse bad and that was for the cigarette lighter...I replaced that. What should I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

Re: 1991 Escort Dash Lights...
Possibly the dimmer switch.

No, the dimmer switch doesn't affect it at all...it dims the heater controls and whatnot, but the dash lights still aren't on.

Re: 1991 Escort Dash Lights...
I'm no expert, but do you think it might be a wire issue? Or perhaps a light bulb? I had one of the bulbs go out in my escort and now the engine temp guage doesn't work... but everything else works just fine.
Perhaps there's a "chain" of wires that feed those certain guages, and that wire got unplugged or shorted out? I hope this helps!

Re: 1991 Escort Dash Lights...
I had the same problem and after going through many of the above suggested. I found that it was the bulbs. It's not worth the work to change the bulbs. I suggest you live with it.
