Question Firefox 2.0 question

Now that I have FiOS I finally am able to watch video content without all the buffering and poor quality downloading that my dialup offered. I tried to download a video from Yahoo ( was directed there from a Google search for the video) and a page appeared that told me I needed to upgrade my current Firefox browser ( which was ver. 1.0.5) to the new 2.0 for better viewing ability. I downloaded and installed it with no problem and went back to the site to continue. Now another window appeared which told me I was missing an important plug in to Firefox to view any video. It said I was missing the Active X plug in. I went to Filehippo and couldn't find it and after a Google search, found a site that had a lot of plug ins and extensions. I found the Active X plug in, but noticed it said it could only be used on versions 1.0.7 or lower. I'm not sure what to do now. Do I have to wait until someone updates this plug in to download it or will it actually work with the new 2.0 and the info from the site hasn't been updated to reflect that?

Re: Firefox 2.0 question

As far as I can tell, you should be able to use any previous extensions that worked in earlier versions. Try it and see. If it dosn't work, just remove it.

Re: Firefox 2.0 question

This is the most recent version I could find:
http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-15.xpi

It's designed for 1.5.0.7, it will probably work with 2.0, but it's not guaranteed.

Oz, I remember seeing that particular page when I was looking for the extension. I can't remember which site I saw it on. The reason it didn't work for me was there was a problem with the page that came up. I clicked on the link you provided in your post and I saw the same thing again, a bunch of letters in random order, a lot of question marks interspersed among them and some weird symbols. Is that some sort of computer code or programming code? Does that mean there is a problem with the page when I see that displayed?
