simple questoin
Does anyone know how to compress a movie, and what program to use. Curtis I know you have at least an idea on this one...lol

I can't answer your question straight up but I remember way back when, I used DivX to compress movie files to store on my hard drive.

you mean like compress to fit onto a dvd? i use dvd shrink, you can also shrink files to your hardrive with it

its better to just render it so it fits.
try rendering in wmv instead of mpeg2. That will shed pounds on your file.  As far as i know there is no way to "compress" video like you are saying other than to render it smaller. Also what are you using for editing software?

You have several options.
I take down 95 meg MPEG's to 6-7 meg WMV's. I don't know that software. I use Adobe Premiere Pro. But you have an option on what codec to compress with, and those codecs give you options as well. Size, sound, etc.

Shoot, I used to have a copy of pinnicle studio 9, but I got rid of it.
but yeah the solution is probably to just render it in wmv instead of mpeg. If your already rendering in wmv and its still to big, you have to cut down on the size.
