Coli Spring Specs

A common problem with my fleet of CVPI is that the springs are too weak to handle all the equipment in the trunk. A while back I stated, I was parting out a 96 CVPI and I was told that the suspension components were not as good as the 99's. Well I took the 96 rear coil springs .and installed them on the 99 with a large improvement in the hight and ride. Now the 99 springs said GNX on them while the 96 said TOW. I suspect that the 96 had a heavier spring than the CVPI 99 springs. Does any one have access to the actual sping load ratiing? In the past, as in pre 91 CV I had installed 85-86 wagon tow spings to get the ride hight and lift needed.

Re: Coli Spring Specs

I am back to asking the same question. Anybody have the specs, not the part listings of the rear coil springs for the Crown Victoria. I am looking for the weight handling capability. My old 88 CVPI had 1250lb load rating springs installed. Thats the type of info I am looking for for the TOW and GNX springs.

Re: Coli Spring Specs

Do a search at www.crownvic.net for posts by "Ray Bones", he has posted the spring rates somewhere.
