Re: can a k20 be swapped into my 93 accord? and would it be better that the H22?

i dont know how i happened to be in this section, but ill give it a shot, as no one has yet.

im assuming that you are talkin about the H22a1, the 96ish dohc v-tec motor from the prelude. the h22a1 is about 190hp at the crank.

the k20a is from the rsx type s. the engine is a dohc v-tec and puts out about 220 hp at the crank. it also puts down the same if not a little more tq numbers as the s2k, creating a really flat tq line.

with money, anything is possible. the k20a1 swap isnt going to be carb legal or emssions worthy, unless you're lucky enough to live in an area where no testing is done. i personally think is should fit, as the h22 can be fitted into the accord, but isnt the easiest to work on b/c of the snug fit. im not too sure on the dimentions on both of the motors, or the dimention of the engine bay its going into, so there's no way i can say it will or wont fit without modification to the firewall. this will give you an idea of what swapping the k20a into your accord is like, as its being swapped into a crx.

no i was talking about the jdm H22a which is running at 200 Hp i believe or it might be 220Hp i cant remember off the top of my head. I have a friend that works at a Honda dealiership and she can get me an JDM H22a for 1,200 thats just with the interworkings block and oil pan which is fine because i planned on boring it out, after market pistons, valve kit, skunk 2 pro series racing intake manifold, stage 3 skunk 2 high lift light weight cam shafts, and all the good stuff, im not just going to slap an intake and call it good im going all out on this h22a I will need to buy a harness and an ecu but oh well. Im also going to chip the ecu so my red line will be at a little over 9 grand i probly wont push it that hard but i might cuz i will have a 2 year warranty on the motor!!!! I heard the k20s take in more hp with bolt on but i dont know about spending 5 g's on one.
