Exclamation throttle cable loose

i have a little but big problem with my 99 ford expidition. just recently my throttle cable on the gas pedal came a little loose. just about like an inch or half. sometimes it slips back into place the way it should but its rare. i was thinking about rigging it somehow. like tying something to the end of the cable and just yanking it (when im racing) cause i can drive it just fine on daily driving. it is just when i want to gun it i can't because im missing like half an inch of gas. tell me what u think i could do to fix this. or if i should just rig it. thanks

Re: throttle cable loose

You need to open the hood and start at the throttle check all places where it is clamped down. Something came loose follow it through the firewall and where it connects to the gas pedal. After you find what you need go to ford and buy needed parts. It also maybe repairable. Don't take a chance of having it stick wide open a bad feeling in traffic. I've had them stick before.
