cutting the air box

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering if anybody has cut their air box and took out that rubber piece that bolts to the fender(for the keman intake), and has it negatively affected your car at all?

I'm worried that this'll somehow let water into the intake, and from there, into the engine, which definately won't be a good thing. Can water get in the cut air box coming up through the fender or something like that? Maybe through the front or the cracks at the edge of the roof? Or am I just being overly paranoid?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: cutting the air box

The 99-00 Zx2 S/R already has that part removed from the factory, and cutting the airbox wont let water in. If you look in the fender well you see there is barely any place for air to get in let alone water.
