Air Intake

next week im going to be doing full maintence on my car(hopefully) but ima start thinking about my first mod

i saw 2 different types of air intakes in ebay that are cheap buy look the the same.... and i dont feel like wasting big bucks 160$+ for "real brand name systems"

here is just a "regular" intake system dont know much about it... just thats its very cheap 47 bucks total
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/91-99...QQcmdZViewItem

then there is this one looks like the same piping but it brings a K&N Cone Filter and its 93 bucks total
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5360&rd=1&rd=1

do u think the 93 dollar system is alot better than that regual no brand system? or wut should i do about intake

suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

or should i buy piping in ebay(looks awsome) and buy the really pricy k&n Fuel Injection performance filter....?

Re: Air Intake

please read our FAQ sticky thread. it covers intakes and such. K&N is the only carb certified open element air filter, so if you're worried about inspections, go with the K&N. however, any big open element air filter will work.

Re: Air Intake

a pipe is a pipe...whether its made of aluminum, plastic, steel, or NASA certified camel crap...it doesn't matter. Only thing to worry about is some people use PVC pipe and it gets too close to the engine and can burn and put out toxic fumes. But thats not really the issue.

Seriously, buy whatever intake you want. K&N is better for filtration, if you want an ebay intake, buy a $25 ebay intake. If you want a decent K&N filter, check out www.importperformanceonline.com and get a huge one for $60. The is no need for piping and all that crap unless you wanna buy it for pretty colors under the hood.

Please read our FAQ.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

I bought that K&N from them. It was $85 after shipping and it comes with an adapter. Just as good as the FIPK for $100 less dollars. I just got mine today and I can't wait for the weekend to put it on with some other crap that I have.
