Replacing the Actuator
Has anyone ever replaced their actuator for the 4x4 drive in a tahoe? I am having trouble with my 4x4 not engaging and have read that the actuator may be the problem. I have already tried replacing the electronic switch on the dashboard.

Re: Replacing the Actuator
Do you mean the encoder/actuator on the transfer case?

Re: Replacing the Actuator
Yes. My understanding is that it actuates a pin that holds the transmission in 4x4, 4x2, or whatever. If I have my car in 2wd right now and drive down the road, it will kick itself into neutral and I have to pull over and push the auto 4wd button. Very weird. I heard that it may be my actuator and the pin is just not staying locked.
