SQ Head Unit
which do you guys think is the better SQ head unit? the Alpine CDA-9853, or the Eclipse CD-5000?

compare the signal to noise ratio.
(in all honesty, you shouldn't notice a difference b/w the two)

the alpine's is 105, eclipse 95. but the eclipse has a 24 bit DAC, while the alpine has 1 bit DAC. i really like the features and looks of the alpine, but like the 24 bit DAC and 8 volt pre outs of the eclipse. which would you choose?

just out of curiosity, are you planning on keeping the Sony Xplod front speakers ? If so, I don't think it will matter - the SQ of either deck will be far better than mid/tweets.

the subs are being replaced with a 12" TC-5200, it's amp soon after to, idk, maybe IA 20.1.

i bought a 9855
for $222.50 on ebay. don't know when it was manufactured, did the 55 have the same problem as the 53? was the issue with the glidetouch?

installed it yesterday
i love it! the only thing is it gets terrible radio reception. with my old pioneer i could tune in around 25 different stations, with this alpine i can only get 2

are you sure the tuner is in the correct mode ? If you hit the pause button, just above the power button) it will toggle between the modes. But most aftermarket radios don't get reat reception ..... and make sure you plugged the antenna into the head unit.

by mode do you mean normal, hifi, and stable (i think thats it)? i switched between all of them and no difference except a little more static on hifi. i pulled the antenna out and there is no difference than when it is plugged in.
