Re: coilover spring installation

I wouldn't bother with them man, they're gonna make your ride so stiff, the problem with them is that they're not made for the specific car's specs, meaning they're just generic springs, not springs for how a Cavalier's suspension should be.

... and your suppose to trim the perches. Not going to come off as a prick, but a little research would have pointed that out to you along with stayin away from those springs. Also putting those on your stock struts was the worst idea ever. They are prolly already blown or will be in time.

Since when has comming off like a prick stopped us from passing on info that people need to not screw themselves in the long run? Also I agree the sooner you ditch the evil and go with god the better. As for already blown I give it at least two weeks. Need to have more faith in stock components cody.

Re: coilover spring installation

No, KYB product will work with those. The only ones that would possibly hold up are the AGX line. But KYB only warrentys those up to a 1.5" drop, and if you put coil overs on them, they will know. YOur best options are Koni, Tein's, Tokico D-spec, thats pretty much all that will work with coil overs.

They have name brand stuff on eBay too you just gotta type it in, type in like "Cavalier kyb" "cavalier tein" "cavalier koni" - are you sure you wanna go with coilovers? A good set up and much more expenisve then lowering springs and you pretty much get the same lowered effect with a better ride.

I have ridden in 2 different j-body setups. None of which have been coil overs.

Goldline springs on Koni reds. - Extremly hard and a kidney buster, held the road very well.

Eibach Prokit and Kyb AGX - My own. Stiff but not as stiff as the goldlines, also holds the road extremly well.

Coilover good combos are ....

Tein SS straight up..
Ground Control and Koni

Re: coilover spring installation

I bought my springs and struts off ebay for around $500 for both, springs and struts are much cheaper then any GOOD coilover set, for a good coilover set you're looking at 800+

Re: coilover spring installation

Eibach Prokit - $235
Kyb AGX struts - $520
= $735 including taxes.

I got my AGX's when they first came out, they have now since dropped in price. The prokit will be around the same price however, maybe a tad bit more.

Here is what my setup did for my car...

Before..

After..
