1994 Gmc Sierra Header Question

So i was told that there is no real difference with headers taht either way they will rust. But from what i hear ceramic is better, and the mechanics that are working on my engine now wont put a set of headers on for me since they said it would take so long ..... BS!!!! Any wayz so im going to have another shop do them for i belive $100 and i just need to know what would be a good set of headers for the price , i dont want to go and spend alot of money but i want a set of headers that will last me for awhile atleast till my truck no longer runs anymore.... That being said i also would like to know if i were to jsut get a set of headers and get some ceramic paint would at be the same thing and buying ceramic headers or should i go the correct rout and buy ones already coated with the ceramic from the factory.

I own a 94 sierra with the 5.7L v8 and i just want know what would be the best route for me .........

Thanks

Re: 1994 Gmc Sierra Header Question

I have a '93 Sierra 350ci. with Hedman headers. They are ok for the money, but the flanges have warped from the heat and make it tough to keep a regular gasket on them. When looking for a set, be sure to get one with a thick flange. Also, the ceramic paint probably wont hold up like ceramic coatings will. The paint will chip and flake off over time, and the ceramic coating is tested to last longer, hence the higher price.

Hope this helps,
HiSpeed

Re: 1994 Gmc Sierra Header Question

Thanks man, i appriciate the help with the header question. But for now i am going to have to hold on buy myself somthing alittle nicer then usual. Just lost my job over sum bs and the mechanics are trying to f*** me over with the work on my engine , but for a brand wise what would you say would be a good brand for the money? Or should i just call up say ... .Summit, or Jegs and ask them about the whole flange thing?

Re: 1994 Gmc Sierra Header Question

I would suggest just calling Jegs or Summit Racing and talk to a sales rep. They will have all the information you will need, but call both and compare what they say before you buy. The Hedman Hedders I have are pretty good for the price, but I next time I will definitely buy better ones.
