Column to Console Shifter Conversion
Well after alot of searching for a complete console shifter I found one. I had to pull it out, but the shifter cable from the doner truck was cut, the engine and tranny were pulled by the yard where the truck was already, and they just cut the cable. I got it home, put it all together only to find the shifter cable on my truck does not fit. I assumed they were the same, but by the looks of it, they are not. So new cable tomorrow.
The wiring is the problem. I have figured the the parking light, and shift interlock wiring, but does any one have a diagram for the other three wires. They are not the the reverse lights, thats in the tranny switch itself If anyone has ideas, or knows for sure, I am all ears. Thanks |

Re: Column to Console Shifter Conversion
Thanks blazee, but I already took a look at that, Rilth, as always, did a great write-up, but he doesn't mention the other remaining wires. The black, grey, and for me, black/green wire was for the shift interlock. There was still a yellow, white/green, and pink left over. Those are the ones I would like to know what they are for.

Re: Column to Console Shifter Conversion
Thanks Blazee, just what I was looking for. I just wanted to make sure the set-up will have no problems with any wiring.
