95 lebaron gtc bogging

My friend has a 95 lebaron 3.0 convertible automatic. It has an intermittant bogging issue. It runs fine up to 3000 rpms then the tach drops and it starts sputtering. It seems like it isnt getting fuel. You have to press the accelerator slowly and lightly as pressing it hard makes the problem worse. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

do you know how to do the key trick to retrieving trouble codes?

turn da key "on-off-on-off-on" w/in a few seconds w/out turning the engine on...

then, you'll see a couple of flashes from the check engine light on your cluster. long flashes & short flashes...

code 55 means all's OK from the car's computer.

or mebbe, when's the last time you have changed the gas filter?

I posted this responce to PFC Gardner's post 10/23 askin a similar ?? on his 2.5 that bogs..

Sounds like a fuel problem, possibly blocked in the filter area, or worse a partially blocked catalyst, try taking the cat off an see what happens, apart from the noise the revs shud fly up. So its a cheapy fix if its filters.. or a few $$$ more for a catalytic converter..
