Exclamation HELP with battery

Hi guys, I have a 2002 Wrangler. Sometimes when I try to start the jeep it fails to start (No lights, bells or whistles). I get a jump start and it starts right up. I can go days with any problems and then all of the sudden, It acts like the battery is dead again, give a jump start and it starts back up again.

I've gotten the battery and alternator tested and they are both fine. I've cleaned and checked the battery terminals and they are both fine. I have no clue .

Summary: Battery drains; no specific time line, days or hours after driving; all seems fine after jump start; battery and alternator tested fine.

Re: HELP with battery

I would check a volt meter on each of your fuse lines in your fuse box.
You may have a hot line that is constantly draining your battery even when it is not on.

Re: HELP with battery

I would have thought it's the fuse but here is the strange part.

I can go days with out driving it (in theory draining the battery) but it starts right up. But then I drive to work, park it for 4 hours and then it wont start. If it was a constant drain, wouln't I have had problems when I don't drive it for a long time?

Re: HELP with battery

This happened to me a couple of times (but it might not be your problem though). When I turned off my jeep I turned the key tooo far and the accessories came on. I did not notice that they were on because just the radio would have shown me that the igition was on. I got a dead battery and then everything worked fine.

So, now when I get out of my Jeep I re-check that the key is totally OFF.

Hope this helps you

Happy Jeepin
