I was considering purchasing the new Tiburon. So I went edmunds.com to see the invoice pricng reports, what I found I did not like. Although this may have been the owner's fault it may have altered my decision. Here is the link to the consumer review from edmunds.http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/hyun..._consumer.html

Re: New Tib
Well, considering how many good reviews there are compared to bad, I wouldn't put too much weight on that comment. I love my Tib and haven't had any problems so far (almost a year now since I got it).
Also, I don't know what dealerships she was going to, but mine has been great with service etc. I even got my hood repainted when I found some hazy spots that they determined were factory defect. It seems like some people just have no idea how to take care of a car, then they blame it on the manufacturer and dealer(s) and anyone else they can.

Re: New Tib
I wouldn't base your decision on that one person. The 2.7L is a very strong engine. How they managed to blow it up, I don't know. I have been the parts manager here for over 4 years, and I can't remember, if/when we ever had to replace a 2.7L for a warranty repair. Now replacing them for lack of maintenance, that's another story. I think there have been 2 because of that. And a/c problems. Of all the car lines I've dealt with over the years, Hyundai's I think have the least amount of a/c problems than any other make. It literally takes me probably 2 years to go through 1 30lb can of R134A. The only a/c compressor I stock is for a Sante Fe, and I've only sold 2 of them in the past year. I don't know why, but we just don't see problems with a/c on Hyundai's.

Re: New Tib
Thank you for your thoughts on that. I really like the design of the Tiburon, I am hoping to test drive one soon though. That will probably be the deciding factor in my purchase. Since I have also been considering the Scion tc and VW GTI.

Re: New Tib
Motors don't blow up by themselves, they need help. Like a bad tune and/or bad work. I've been running an SC for over 2 years at 7.5 psi and many other mods and have no problems whatsoever. If you beat the crap out of a car it will do the same to you.

Re: New Tib
Not much. Different colors, options, packages etc. Some Tuscanis come with folding mirrors and heated seats and I think a handsfree connection for cell phones. You can do all that to a US Tiburon if you want to badly enough (and have the cash).

Re: New Tib
The differences are cosmetic. Many of us convert the Tib to KDM.
