Repainting 2g rims
I have some rims they look primer grey and are from a 2g eclipse.What would be the best way to repaint them and how should I sand them?

sand blast them then sand then with some 1200 grit or something really fine

I have a write up on how I refinished my rims and they turned out good. Just search for it and you should find it no problem
I would sand them just to rough up the surface so the paint will stick and make sure they are clean and still pretty smooth and paint over whats on there. That will lead to the best finish

Scuff them with a scotchbrite pad completely so there are no shiny spots left, prime them (if you want), seal them, paint them, and clear them if you want.

Yeah the rims look like crap so I am planning on painting them black since my car is red.The guy I was getting them from wanted 200 bucks for them and I told him I didnt have the money but he told me to keep them....so i dont know if he gave em to me or what
.I will look up that old thread about painting rims.Thanks guys for the help |
