Shift handle position on a 92 legacy

I just picked up a 92 Legacy wagon.... it just had a brand new clutch installed and it was all done correctly, however, when i put the shifter into say first gear, it seems to fall back to the center.. i dont knwo if thats normal or not.. thats not my problem.. the problem is going from 2nd to 3rd, as i push it up to 3rd it feels like i have to slide it a little more to the right.. almost seems like im going to 5th... in other words it feels like 1st and 3rd are to far apart... is there an adjustment... a bolt or somthing... and one more thing is the shifter seems hard to move from gear to gear.. it seems to kind of slid its way there not really a secure click into hear feeling.

Sounds like the cables are snagging up on somthing. Have the shop where the clutch was installed check the cables.. Sometime when you take things out and put them back, things are in different places..
