12" rotors and struts question

I have a 2000 Intrigue.
Can you buy the 12" Autobahn/heavy duty package discs from anywhere for the 99 Intrigue?
Do you need to replace the calipers?
Will the master cylinder need to be changed?
Will it fit with the 2000 Intrigue stock 16" wheels?
Does it matter if they are chrome? j/k

Has anyone upgraded from the stocks to the heavy duty package notice any real difference?

What about struts? Is there a heavy duty version of that as well? I hesitate going OE as they don't seem to last as long like a "good" aftermarket brand like KYB. Granted the Intrigue is heavier than most little 4 cylinder Jap cars, but most of the little Hondas I have driven seem to have KYB as the stock strut and they seem "tight" 10+ years later and 150K miles later. I'm generalizing but you get where I'm going with this. I don't want anything souped up, just a level above stock trim.

Thanks!

The discs are simply the 12 inch rotors found on numerous cars made by GM, there isnt anything special about them, so yes they are available. Just go to an Auto Parts store and request rotors for a 98 Intrigue with the Heavy Duty brakes

No you will still use the same calipers. All that needs replaced besides the rotors are the caliper mounting brackets. Ive never check their avaiability from stores, I got mine from the junkyard. Easiest ones to find are from an 00-03 Impala or Monte Carlo, just see if the car has 11.9 rotors with your tape measure and grab the caliper mounting brackets.

No

Yes, it will fit any style of Intrigue wheel

I did. Brakes feel much more confident, especially at higher speeds, they also hold up better under frequent stopping. I wouldnt pay the prices for the whole kit, the parts are out there for much cheaper.

As for struts I dont know, but if its handling you want, you might consider this:

I know it doesnt say anything about the Intrigue, but it will fit just fine, I have one on my car right now, noticed a pretty significant difference as well. Its one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do for handling.
