Lightbulb engine block hearter for 01 ranger

I live in Arkansas where it can get to single digets
I'm looking into a engine block heater...
I found one that is a magnet that attaches to my oil pan and one that is a replacement dip stick ... which one would be better ?
I have heard that a coolent warmer is better and a battery warmer is great too...suggestions ???

I would think the one that goes on the pan would be better. They make one that you cut a radiator hose and put it in that warms the radiator fluid.
