Re: Code 43,instant limp,sometimes

If you fix it post it!I have a 95 3.5 i picked up nice car but stuck in limp mode i guess.Start the car about 30 seconds later all the lights on the shift indicator light up only can drive it 30-35mph.Replaced the input and output speed sensors, tryed another tcm checked the wiring harness.Have a known good valve body/solinoid pak in the trunk havent put that in yet.Have read so much about these things doing this kind of gave up for awhile.I was told about a nuetral saftey switch that causes this also i bought a new one that will be put in with the valve body.I guess you have to make sure you use the mopar trans fluid.keep posting on how you do or what you find i will do the same.

Re: Code 43,instant limp,sometimes

After beating my head against the wall way to many times,I told the customer that when it does it again to head off to the Chrysler dealer for a diag only with the drb box and we will go from there. The could not communicate wit hthe car.Good sign,i'll bet that it's either the wiring in the left front wheel well or a bad ccd bus line.Find out next week.

Re: Code 43,instant limp,sometimes

So it was asked,Fixed yet?.Yes it is.This car had a few minor issues that led up to it's dimise. The ing switch was tired.I tore apart thr column and played with the switch, you could get some wierd azz crap going on by doing that.So anyways,New ing switch( not sure if in my mind yet I am sure it was one of the probs, but it was a prob here.Sometimes no dash at all or only half, and with no shift ind, bcm & tcm cant talk).Removed the 2 plugs at the rf strut tower/firewall and hard wired them.No matter how hard I made the connection by collapsing the female connection it never really connected.Car works golden, for now....................

Re: Code 43,instant limp,sometimes

What exactly do you mean by hardwiring plugs at RF shock tower?
Did you hard wire two connections from computer?
The majority of posts concerning a dodge 3.3 engine and wiring are basically the same thing. Auto Shutdown relay shuts off fuel and spark. Everyone blames crank or cam sensor but the codes generated just indicate cam and crank not sending signals.
Or tranny in limp mode, which occurs for most faults. Isn't the transmission.
I'm coming up with fact there is a common ground blue black wire for all of these sensors.
Can't find the open or short in actual wire.
I haven't touched ignition yet but can see how it could affect wiring to sensors if ignition not sending hot power to computer or sensors.
I'm tempted to hard wire black blue wire past all sensors to give computer impression all sensors properly grounded. Just not sure if blue black wire sends fluctuating signal?
Don't think it does because it's wire in series to sensors and each sensor would add fluctuating voltage which would garble the signal. Must give a common voltage that computer must recognize and give the OK to energize Auto Shutdown relay.
Therefore hardwiring common wire giving that voltage would give computer big thumbs up.
Whoever thought up wiring by ganging devices and sensors on same circuits must be a dope smoker.
Probably kind of guy who can't find butt with both hands.
The power door locks are keeping time with the flashing dome light while the radio works intermittently and the tach surges up and down like it's possessed. Then horns decide to stay on in rush hour at stop light. Or at 3 am on Sunday night. The Dodge design team must have had a giggle with this brain child.
My mechanic's advice?
