need help wiring a deck
ok heres the deal i got a 91 astro and i bought a wiring harness for it. i matched up the wires for the harness and the deck. I checked all the colors and they all matched but i did something wrong because when i plugged it in and turned on the ignition and press power it didnt turn on, and the bottom started to heat up a little. The only thing i can think on is that i did a bad job wiring it up since all i did was twist the wires together and tape them up with electrical tape. what do you guys use to connect the wires? and do you think thats the problem?? Sorry this is my first deck install.
Thanks in advance.

Re: need help wiring a deck
solder with shrink wrap or buttend crimp connectors.
recheck all your wires to make sure they are right before turning the headunit on again. |

Re: need help wiring a deck
to make proper connections, use:
butt crimps and crimp tool, or, soldering kit, with heat-shrink tube or electrical tape. simply twisting them together is a terrible, terrible method.
