bleed fuel line?

hey there..

Have a 1993 Toyota Pickup, 4 cyl. After using some gas i shouldn't have, i now have water in my fuel system. Bought a bottle of dry gas and put it in.. So the gas in my tank should be fine.

However, need to get rid of the watery gas in my fuel line. How does one do this? I'm by no means a mechanic, so i was a little confused when i saw 2 lines coming from my gas tank. (but yes, i found what i believe is the fuel filter in back passenger side engine compartment)

Any advice? As specific as possible if ya can!

Re: bleed fuel line?

The question is how much water did you get. You might have to drain the tank into a big tub. The water will go to the bottom. To drain the line disconnect the line at the filter. If the front end is up hill most of it should drain back. Collect in a glass jar you can tell the gas and water level. After this if the car will run good. If not you will have to drain the tank.

Re: bleed fuel line?

Before you drain the tank, dump some dry gas (generic term) in the tank.
It will convert the water into a burnable compound that won't hurt you.
