Headlight problem

I'm posting this for a not-so-computer-literate co-worker of mine.

A friend of his has a nice RSX Type-S and at one point in time had to have the headlight cluster on one side replaced. Now when the lights are turned on, one of them is fine, but the other strobes... which would be fine for car shows, haha, but not a daily driver. I'm not sure of the year, but I can get that information soon.

Any clue as to where this electrical problem might be coming from would be great. Or at least having someone else tell me that they've had a similar problem would be nice.

Thanks!

Re: Headlight problem

The only common headlight problem I'm aware of is very frequent burning-out of bulbs. Never heard of this problem to date. Check to make sure the wiring is correct ie: the low beam, high beam and blinker are plugged into the correct positions in the back of the housing.

Re: Headlight problem

I had the frequent burning-out problem. I put in 3 bulbs in two months, one done by the dealer while I had it in for an oil change. I also had significant condensation appearing in each lamp case. I told the dealer about it, and they replaced both lamps under warranty - $750, no charge to me. Now they work great and I haven't blown a bulb all year.

Re: Headlight problem

I would work my way back from the bulb. Check the wiring next to the bulb with a voltmeter. If that's not the culprit, it might just be a matter of replacing the bulb.

Never had this problem in any cars I have owned.
