Starter Trouble
I am having starter trouble with my aspire, I was having problems with a dead spot in the starter when I turned the key nothing happened, and it would also screech when started. When it got warmer it would not do this. So I replaced it with a advance auto rebuilt, and it still screeched a little then when summer came it never had a problem, not that it is getting colder it is screeching again till it really warms up, I went underneath to change the oil the other day, played with the one electrical small connection to the starter and it was fine for awhile till it got damp from some snow we had here in Wisconsin. Now it screeches again when started. Could it be this connection? When I gets wet or it had a bad connection? or is it the starter again?

It could have been a 90 day wander starter. How long was it gauranteed for? If it is noisie I would take back where you got it and get a trained ear to listen to it. Could be bad starter or flywheel or both. As far as weather if it kicks in and turns the engine over. The weather is not the problem. MT

But also check the flywheel teet when you have the starter off. A bad flywheel or oil leaking on the starter can give you starter problems to. But where you have a lifetime starter take it back and let them listen to it. They should take care of it or make it good. If they installed it to start with they should instll another one for you but depending on warranty you may have to pay labor on it. Good luck MT

They are a lot of times the main problem on a lot of stuff. Get them good and tight and the greese helps them make connection and keeps moisture out. Ford has a lot of problems on that plug on connecror on there starters Some of the rebuilt starters even come with a new wire and connector. Good luck with it.
