Code 13 Help.-1983 Cutlass Supreme

Hiya! I just Aquired a 1983 Cutlass Supreme w/ a 307 engine. the Check Engine Light is on and i get a Code 13. The man i got it from said the original carburator was electric and he replaced it with a manual carb. and since then the light has come on. Is there any way to turn off the engine light without pulling the bulb. I would light to keep the light working incase something goes wrong the light can still come on. The book said it was a o2 sensor, but he said it was changed in 2004. So im assuming it must the some diconnected wires from the carb. ANy help would be appreciated..

Thanks,
Chaz.

If changed over to a regular carb your computer system will have no control over fuel mix.
Might be good or bad.
But it still may control timing and idel and some other stuff.
Code 13 is for a open circuit on on 02 sensor.
Make sure the wirng is good.
I would just tape over the light and check codes at times.

So what your saying is, The Code 13 has Nothing to do with the carb wires?

Ill have to get under the car and check the o2 wires.

Thanks,
chaz.

The code 13 is a open circuit problem on 02 sensor.

MT2500's advice is right on. I am surprised you are not getting mc solenoid and tps codes as they are the fuel control components in the oe carb, this and the o2 sensor are part of the CCC system for that year. I believe the sensor was probably disconnected intentionally as you would definitely set codes with that carb.

Well, i RERAN tyhe codes and you were right.. I got a Code 13, 21, 23, and a 34 What is the differential Pressure Sensor? could the discconnected wires at the carb cause that? also i checked the wire for the o2 sensor and its fine so since its a free lifetime replacement im gunna change it.

Re: Code 13 Help.

TPS, map sensor, mc solenoid codes, are all there because of there not in the fuel conntrol circuit anymore. The non ccc carb is the source of the codes, no way to fix this and forget the o2 sensor it has no effect on this engine.
