convert manual door locks to pwr

Hi Everyone
Just wondering if anyone has ever converted manual door locks to power door locks. Hoping to do my 2000 Silverado, any coments on SPAL brand components as seen on ebay. Also seen different brands from "DR Detail" in Cincinatti Ohio, and also A1 Electric in Torrance ,Ca. It looks easy enough to do but looking for info about components
Thanks Muff

Re: convert manual door locks to pwr

My dad had power locks installed on my 80 el camino. He got it done at soundwaves. I looked at it, it seems easy enough to do if you got the kit. They mounted the radio computer thingy under the dash out of the way. It uses selonoids[sic] to actuate the arms of the regular lock. Dont know if that helped, but someone here should know exactly what you looking for.

with the whole eBay thing, it doesn't matter where something comes from, it's the brand that matters. whether you put it in autozone or eBay, there's no difference.

with a good technical/automotive understanding you should be able to do it yourself, if not take it to a place that specialises in electronics or custom work, they'll be used to that kind of thing and shouldn't have a problem.

the kits i've seen around here go for ~$500.
