Signal light stops working at random

My friend has a 2002 Dodge Intrepid. When he turns his signal on either right, or left it will at random stop working, and has to turn it off, and back on again for it to work again before it stops signaling. Anyone else heard of this happening, or knows what the problem might be?

Thanks
Adam

Re: Signal light stops working at random

Sounds to me like you might have to get a new multifunction switch since they operate the turn signals, wipers/washers, hazard flashers, and high beams. I had a similar problem with a 94 LHS and found that ig you cycle the hazard switch on and off the signal would work again but that was for one direction only and not both. You can try that but I got a feeling this problem is a little deeper a the switch replacement may be the only cure.

to repair and get the thrill back than a pissed off girlfriend.
