Suburban Headlights

Is it just me or does my 96 Suburban have the weakest set of headlights I have ever seen. I even tried the Painless Wiring switch that allows the low beams to stay on when I switch on the high beams. I know brighter headlight bulbs are available but i cant seem to figure out why I should spent a lot of money to get the brightness I should be getting from regular headlights.

Re: Suburban Headlights

Sounds like your headlight switch may be on it's last legs. Turn the lights on, wait a few and feel around the switch. If the area is warm/hot to touch, REPLACE the switch.

Here's a link to a "FORD" page where the switch is used to run 2 relays instead of the headlights and all the others. I did this to my F-150 and the headlight voltage jumped from 10.9 to full battery voltage. I did this 3 years ago and haven't had a problem or replaced a bulb yet.

This will definately help.

Re: Suburban Headlights

If you want to buy parts, I'd suggest trying this site: www.genuineoem.com I know they've done well in the past and I hope they can take care of you, too.
