Airbags

Do you need to replace speed sensors & control units of airbags if their blown or just the actual bag? Does anyone know what airbags are compatible for a 2000 Grand Am? 1999 - 2005? What about from Grand Prixs or Bonnevilles?

Re: Airbags

Are you attempting to do this yourself, these systems are not to be toyed with, let me know what's what here.` Your questions tell me you are in a learning mode with this type of repair.

Re: Airbags

Well, i'm just looking to find out what it would cost to repair blown airbags. I probably wouldnt do ti myself - just buy the needed airbags/modules/whatever and have a mechanic do it properly and would like to see from what vehicles I could use on the 2000 Grand Am(I'm looking on Ebay and the more compatible types of airbags the better).

Re: Airbags

Besides the air bags the SDM must be replaced and any arming sensor near or at the impact point. Also possible clock spring. SDM for 2000-2001 are the same,, it seems 2000 air bags stand alone, I would check this info with a Pontiac dealer for the latest info.
