speakers pop

my speakers are making a popping noise. They are Polk MMC460s and the head is a kenwood KDC-X590. What does this popping mean? the head is also pushing the stock 6x9s in the back.

Re: speakers pop

could be your speakers are blown. my old stock comps were popping, took out the cover and saw the surrounds were completely shredded. there could be other reasons, though.

Re: speakers pop

My Pioneer 6x9's were popping for awhile, then stopped working completly. I assumed I blew them (although it seemed crazy). Come to find out, since I didn't use the "clamps" and just wrapped the wire, it had come just loose enough to mess with the signal, and as the speaker played, it shook it off enough that it didn't work. Fixed the connections, worked like a charm ever since.

Yeah I had that same problem. Probably a loose connection somewhere
