Re: cut wire, what is it?

Since I don't have a '90-95 262 CPI to look at, you'll have to do the same thing I would do - Look at a schematic for the engien/ignition power to see where the gray wire is supposed to go.

Re: cut wire, what is it?

i just went out and checked my 92 vortec and have no idea of what your refering too (a pic would be nice) but if GM put it there it must have a purpose. try disconnecting the battery, splicing it back together, reconnect the battery and give it the smoke test.

Re: cut wire, what is it?

Your coil has 1 big red wire, 1 small red wire and 2 small white wires...that's all.
There is no gray wire supposed to be connected to your coil or coil wiring.
There are gray wires however:
1 to the EGR valve & MAP sensor
1 from the oil pressure switch to the fuel pump with connections at the fuel pump prime connector (supposed to be a plug on it on the firewall near the ignition coil) fuel pump relay and the engine computer(ECM).

1.) Drop the attitude.

2.) Start typing properly and drop the use of (ne1, dose, plz) and other short forms. Continuing to use them will have everyone passing on helping you seeing they can't read anything you are saying.

3.) DO YOU HAVE A TACH! If you do it could be the wire that goes to the tachometer on the dash.

Re: cut wire, what is it?

That was the reason I asked him if he had a factory tac.

Re: cut wire, what is it?

Sounds like someone tried to pull 12 volts from the ignition coil to run the fuel pump with the fuel pump prime wire. Should have burned the ignition fuse too.
The digital dash gets info from the digital dash module & ECM including RPM signal.
