1988 Chevy c3500 5.7L Cold Start

I recently purchased this pick-up and it is very hard to start when cold. It cranks for a long time before it finally starts and then it wont stay running without foot on accelerator. I know the newer ones have cold start injectors or valves, but I do not know what this has or where to start in repairing this problem.

Any help would be much appreciated as it is now getting to the winter months and I need this to start the right way and keep running on fast idle until warm without help of my foot.

Thanks Bob

Re: 1988 Chevy c3500 5.7L Cold Start

For anyone concerned, since I had no replys, the problem I ended up finding was a broken connector to the coolant temp. sensor. I replace the sensor and repaired the connector and I no longer have the problem.

Thanks Bob
