65 engine swap to v8 help

1965 falcon 6 cyl. auto. i would like to instal 289 or 302. i know i need engine mounts and lower brace. can the v8 work with the trans? not looking for a hotrod just something with a little pep and sounds good. any help is appreciated. thanks, mark

auto or man? first. then you need to find a mustang with a v8 and get the motor mounts and up grade the brakes. becare full with the trans.

I would try to buy a mustang with a bad body and good motor. That way you have all the parts you need.

Buy a 85 or later 5.0, they come with the hyrdraulic roller cams. swap the engine and trans and just take the motor mounts with it. We own a 260 falcon, now with a 331 stroker, with the ford-o-matic, 2 speed.

i got a 65 as well. 331 stroker and a built c4. now ya af u dont wanna hot rod find an a.o.d. out of one of those stangs. wow.. this is an old thread.

had no problem with installing a C-4 into my 63 falcon. had to purchase a new trans mount from melvins classic fords.
