Engine question
This might be a stupid question, but I'm looking for a new engine for my vr-4, turbos and everything else are good, just had some unfortunate problems and I was wondering what the difference between the 6G72TT and G672 were? Somebody told me the only difference is the TT comes with the turbos, is this true or are their engine differences? Any information would be helpful.

Re: Engine question
Pretty much the same motor for the most part except the 6G72TT has lower compression ratio, forged internals every year, ect and yes, is set up for turbos.

Re: Engine question
Quote:
all years pistons were cast. 91-92 had a cast crankshaft and 2 bolt mains, regardless of model 93+TT's had 4 bolt mains

Re: Engine question
If you swap an NA engine in there with teh 10:1 pistons. Kiss the new engine goodbye the 1st time you hit 15psi. Eitehr get your old engine rebuilt or buy a new shortblock from www.dynamicracing.com or look around for a used frontclip or something.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical. |
