97 GP GT Wont Start

I just replaced the alternator and the connections to that and the battery look fine. I drove it about 50 miles today and coming home the stereo started turning on and off. Then the battery light came on and the car began to want to shut down as i pulled in my drive way. Now it wont turn on, it only clicks, any suggestions? Could it be the voltage regulator and if it is where is that?

Welcome to AF!!

The voltage regulator is located inside the alternator. Make sure that you got everything connected correctly. Also did you disconnect the battery before you changed the alternator? If not you probably damaged the new alternator and you may have to replace it with another one. I would charge the battery and see if the car will start. If it does and the light stays on then the alternator is shot. Before doing anything except charging the battery, I would disconnect the battery and check the connection to the back of the alternator. It may be loose or have a corroded connection. Good Luck!
