Unhappy ECU 91 Camaro RS

hello, i just bought an 91 camaro RS V6 3.1

i got to test drive it 5 days and it ran great. for a V6 it had alot of Acceleration, just pressing the gas a tiny bit and the car would take off like a rocket and change gears very fast and smooth. i didn't need to floor it to pass another car.

now here's the deal, the car needed a new ECU because it would not pass smog check and the speedometer did not work, well the car sales man had it sent to the chevy dealer and they put in a new ECU and now the car has NO POWER, i have to floor it to get anything out of it and passing other cars is a no no unless i can see 10 miles in front of me and hold it to the floor..

how can i get my power back? WTF did they do to my car. sure it passed the smog and the speedo works now but where is the power. i can tell its there Just cant seem to reach it, LOL

i heard the new ECU is set to factory defaults and they are all low settings, i also have been looking at webpages about chips that can be hooked up in 10min to get my power back to the wheels and not choked off inside the engine. Help Help.

Re: ECU 91 Camaro RS

if its that big of a difference, im pretty sure the guy before tuned a bunch of things.. if thats true, you should just go back to him and ask him how he had it set up..or to the dealer to get your ecu back?

Re: ECU 91 Camaro RS

the deffernce is Huge, it use to be very fast for a v6 but now when i step on the gas it just bogs down. im sure the guy who owned it befor me tweaked it some how and im guessing it was the ECU that was tweaked.

has anyone tryed the superchips or racing chips on ebay? its probaly a scam but im woundering if they work. it sounds to good to be true and probaly is.
i'v been takin befor with online scams and now i try to reserch anything befor i wast money.

yeah, those are all scams.. all they do is eithier 1) put a resistor where your sensors are.. or 2) nothing

Whoever changed the ECM should have installed your old MEMCAL into the replacement ECM. If they still have it, get it back.

ADS is one of the better PROM dealers. HyperTech is mostly Hype. That's why I write my own.
