2002 S-10 Does nothing

My 2002 S-10 has been running perfect since it was new, this morning it just wont start, all guages work, lights work, radio works. When you turn the ignition switch... nothing. Doesnt click, churn, or nothing. It cranked perfect last night, no clue of a problem till this morning. It is a 4.3, 5 speed work truck. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Welcome Aboard!

Clutch fully depressed? Do the warning lamps all illuminate when you try to operate the starter (Bulb Test Mode)?

Fuel pump.

Set the key to the position just before start. If you do't hear the fuel pump prime, you have a blown fuel pump.

Make sure you use a Delphi pump, DO NOT GO CHEAP AND GET A CARTER, YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Is the fuel pump a major repair, as far as labor goes?

OK, I turned the switch and I can hear the fuel pump click and engage. What do you think I should do next?

Re: 2002 S-10 Does nothing

No, the fuel pump has nothing to do with not turning over. See if the small wire is still connected to the starter from the ign switch - wire off no crank. see if the the battery terminals are all clean so have voltage and try to jump it with another vehicle or make such the battery is not almost dead. Then there is the clutch interlock switch that cuts the starter out - could be bad or out of adjustment on pedal up behind.

Re: 2002 S-10 Does nothing

Oh I see, my mistake.

When you mean no turn over, you mean the starter won't engage or the engine won't fire up?

First, check battery coltage.
Second, clean and retighten your battery connections and the connections to the starter.
