Talking exhaust

is there a muffler louder than the 40 series flowmaster....i put one (a dual inlet and dual outlet) on my truck about 6 months ago and its not that loud (97 Z71 350 motor)...i know a couple of friends that have the same setup with about the same mileage as mine(180k) and theres are way louder ???

Re: exhaust

here is one idea for loud kick a$$ sound from an exhaust....but is deemed illegal in at least 50 states....i think. Cut the muffler off, put straight pipes on it. In all seriousness, if louder is what you want, only thing that pops into my head at the moment besides straight pipes is glasspacks.

Re: exhaust

Is your cat the original one form the factory? I found that the one from the facotry holds back the tone of the 40's series muffler. I had a 40's series muffler and i thought it was pretty lound before i bought a new cat. Boy was i wrong... the minute i turned the key to fire up the engine i could tell a major difference in the tone.
